For over 100 years Lincoln Avenue Water Company has supplied water service to the community of West Altadena which is located in the unincorporated area of Los Angeles County. As a mutually owned non-profit corporation the stockholders are the customers that receive water service. Lincoln Avenue serves a population of over 16,000 residents through 4,500 service connections.
As a non-profit company Lincoln Avenue provides high quality, safe drinking water to its shareholders at cost. Water rates are adjusted only when necessary to meet operating expense, which includes the maintenance of an aged distribution system.
The Company is managed by a five member Board of Directors. The Board is responsible for hiring a General Manager and staff to oversee the daily operation. Board Members are elected annually.
